You've worked. You've worried. You've remembered birthdays, made lists, looked after everyone else and probably spent years buying things because they were practical.
Enough of that.
Absolutely Not Beige is about everything that makes life a little more interesting.
Great clothes. Brilliant beauty finds. Beautiful places to stay. Restaurants worth booking. Things for your home that make you ridiculously happy. And occasionally something completely unnecessary that you buy simply because you love it.
We're interested in style, not age. In wearing what makes you feel fabulous rather than following rules about what you're supposedly allowed to wear.
Book the trip.
Order dessert.
Paint the wall pink.
Wear the ridiculous earrings.
Getting older is compulsory.
Getting boring isn't.

BEHIND THE BEIGE
Hello, I'm Fiona.
Absolutely Not Beige started because I wanted to create the sort of place I wanted to visit myself.
Not a website telling women what they should wear, how they should look or how they're supposed to behave at a certain age. And definitely not somewhere where everything suddenly becomes sensible, muted and beige.
I wanted somewhere full of things that make me think: I'd wear that. I'd go there. I'd put that in my house. I'd quite like that life.
So that's what I'm building.
Absolutely Not Beige is a collection of things I find, places I'd love to go, ideas worth sharing and products I think deserve a closer look — hopefully with plenty of colour, humour and the occasional ridiculous purchase along the way.
I'm a firm believer that a bright lipstick, a fabulous hotel and a glass of something cold in the sunshine can improve almost any situation. Add in a few of my best friends and I'm in heaven.

You'll find plenty of recommendations on Absolutely Not Beige, but we're not interested in filling pages with things simply because they earn a commission.
If we feature something, it's because we genuinely think it's worth knowing about.
